Fun facts about chocolate

There are so many strange and wonderful fun facts about chocolate that it's hard to know which ones to include and which to omit for reasons of space.

First, the Mayas used the cocoa bean as currency because they thought it was worth more than gold dust. They controlled the production of beans so that their currency would not depreciate.

White chocolate is not strictly speaking chocolate. We have been working in a bad understanding for many years. The chocolate must contain cocoa solids, but the white chocolate does not contain any. Instead, cocoa butter is used in the production of white chocolate.
